ACANTHURUS LEUCOSTERNON
Scientific name: Acanthurus Leucosternon.
Common name : Surgeon Fish Blue Shadow.
Origin: Indian Ocean being able to be found since Africa until Indonesia.
Habitat : Usually in reefs and along external slopes. In depths no greater to the 25 metres.
Morphology: Body high and flattened, covered of flakes very small that give to his skin an aspect of scalp.
His coloration base is the brilliant blue with the fin dorsal and the birth of the caudal of yellow colour. The fins ventral and anal are white the same that the caudal where is visible a border of black colour. Any loss of intensity of coloration in the head is evident sign of bad conditions of maintenance. The only sexual difference that appreciates is that the male is more small that the female. It can arrive to the 30 cm.
Maintenance: This species requires to be kept in aquariums that have good aquatic conditions and that they are the most stable possible. The aquariums owe to be big, the changes of water have to realise in a never upper period to the two weeks. The illumination will have to be necessarily intense because it can develop the sufficient d'algues colony of which feeds . It is necessary to have alive rock between the decoration of the aquarium with sufficient hideaways.
