Cladiella Colti
Ideal water parameters:
• Density: 1023 to 1025.
• pH: 8.1 to 8.4
• Ideal temperature: Between 23 and 26 º C.
• Description:
Cladiella The genus consists of a large number of species. They usually have a brown, beige or ivory with a smooth texture and fleshy. In nature can have a size of up to 100 cm in aquaria but usually not exceed 10 or 15 cm.
It is a soft coral, totally devoid of skeleton, usually based on an elongated tubular zone with a crown of tentacles forming large colonies with a tree structure.
The shape of the substrate is fixed by an adhesive disc. Each polyp has a total of eight tentacles with danger and reduces its size rapidly expelling water that fills them.
His main power is usually through symbiotic zooxanthellae that live inside the polyps, however it is a soft coral that likes to eat microplacton, mysis shrimp and a couple of times a week. Also food can be given special commercial marine invertebrates. As procurarsele feeding polyps should be open, so growth is promoted considerably.
The Cladiella is an aggressive species with other corals so we must leave enough space around (5/6 cms.) Inside the tank, especially if we maintain close are sarcopython or sinularias.
Moreover coral is a relatively easy to maintain in aquariums because it has no special requirements too. However, no nitrites tolerate so we must monitor and properly maintain the filtration system to avoid.
When installed in the aquarium should seek intermediate zones where the water flow is abundant to strong (but without becoming a steady stream). Lighting must be high or a color temperature of 10000 º Kelvin or higher. It is recommended not to put it in the corners of the aquarium, where lighting is usually weaker.
Before introducing it into the first tank is advisable rinse water drawn from the same in order to eliminate this coral mucus typically segregate during transport. It is very important to do so because otherwise it can lead to coral death. |
