NEOCARIDINA HETEROPODA
-Common Name: Cherry Shrimp, Red Cherry, Cherry Shrimp.
- Habitat: Originally from Hong Kong and Taiwan, but has been accidentally introduced into river systems belonging to Hawaii.
- Gender Differences: Females reach a larger size and their shields are pleopods located in older to house the eggs. Females are usually intense red, with a yellow spot located in the back of the head, which corresponds to unfertilized eggs.
- Social behavior: Should be given group as well come out more and feel less stressed. Keep in mind the tank mates, some fish they can eat. The ideal partners are Ancistrus and Corydoras besides Guppies and minnows.
