ZEBRASOMA FLAVESCENS
-Synonym: yellow surgeonfish.
-Family: Acanthuridae.
-Habitat: Pacific ocean. Ryukyu Islands, Marina, Marcus and Hawaii among others. It lives in the shady areas of the reef and can be found between 2 and 40 m depth.
-Social Behavior: Not a particularly aggressive species with other fish and invertebrates despite being territorial. You can fight with other surgeons unless they have been kept together since childhood. Young specimens can be kept in schools, but as adults is best to keep a single copy because they are very active and require more space.
-Gender differences: No significant differences between sexes.
-Maintenance: require excellent water quality that must be maintained through many changes of water. Necessarily Lighting should be strong so it can develop sufficient colony of algae that feeds. They require a number of rock between the aquarium decoration enough hiding places. Live rock and agencies provide enough algae to feed them for acclimation. Derteminadas are sensitive to skin related diseases. Furthermore the copper present in the majority of them are very damaging drugs making it more advisable to use ultraviolet sterilizers for removing pathogenic pests.

-Breeding: While it is known that they are oviparous is unknown breeding.
-Food: This is mostly a kind hervíbora. Supplementing the diet with natural algae spirulina supplements.
