HENIOCHUS ACUMINATUS
Scientific name: Heniochus acuminatus.
Common name: Pennant coralfish
Origin: Indo-Pacific Ocean, from Africa to Japan.
Habitat: Lagoons, channels protected and in the deepest parts of the walls of external reefs.
Morphology: Oval body and laterally compressed of white colour, in which stick out 2 or 3 fringe black vertical. For his band, the fin caudal, pectoral and anal, highlight for his yellow tonality. This species characterises to possess a fin dorsal in shape of long filament that can reach measure until 25 cm., as long or more than the length of the own fish (roughly 20 cm.). His ocellus or false eye serves him for mislead and confuse to the possible predatory.
Maintenance: It does not require special cares. They like to swim to and fro of the aquarium, so that it is recommended that this was long.

Behaviour: Sociable, groups in pairs or banks, mainly. They are not territorial, are very calm, with what will be able to coexist perfectly with other peaceful companions without creating problems. They can act as a cleansing, deleting parasites of other fishes.
Feeding: Omnivorous, being able to eat everything type of foods, already are frozen or dry (granules, flakes, etc.).
Reproduction: They are oviparous, but do not know cases of procreation in a aquarium.
